    Juan Pablo Keim

    Ingeniero Agrónomo, Dr. Cs. Agr.
    Juan Pablo Keim es Profesor Asociado de la Facultad de Ciencias Agrarias y Alimentarias de la Universidad Austral de Chile (UACh). Además, forma parte de el Comité Editorial de la Revista Agrosur, es Director del Magister en Ciencias, mención Producción Animal y Presidente del Consejo Directivo de la Estación Experimental Agropecuaria Austral.

    Realizó sus estudios en la UACh, donde obtuvo su título de Ingeniero Agrónomo y posteriormente su grado de Doctor en Ciencias Agrarias.


    Dentro de las líneas de investigación desarrolladas se encuentra la evaluación de la fermentación ruminal de alimentos para bovinos lecheros (métodos in vitro, in situ e in vivo), utilización de los recursos forrajeros (tanto praderas como cultivos suplementarios) por parte de vacas lecheras, relaciones entre la contaminación ambiental y la nutrición, y factores que afectan la productividad de los sistemas lecheros. Eso por ello, que ha conducido y colaborado en proyectos financiados por VIDCA-UACh, Fondecyt, FIA entre otros.

    Es responsable de asignaturas como Producción de Leche Bovina y Alimentación Animal en pregrado; Alimentación de Rumiantes y Tópicos en Nutrición de Rumiantes, entre otras en donde colabora.

    Juan Pablo Keim is an Associate Professor at the Institute of Animal Production, Faculty of Agricultural and Food Sciences, Universidad Austral de Chile (UACh). He is a member of the Editorial Committee of the scientific journal Agrosur, Director of the M.Sc. in Animal Production, and President of the Board of Directors of the Austral Agricultural Experiment Station.

     

    He obtained his Bachelor’s degree and Ph.D. from Universidad Austral de Chile.

     

    His research interests are the evaluation of the ruminal fermentation of dairy cattle feed (in vitro, in situ and in vivo methods), the use of forage resources (both pastures and supplementary crops) by dairy cows, relationships between environmental pollution and nutrition, and factors that affect the productivity of dairy systems. He has led and collaborated in projects financed by VIDCA-UACh, Fondecyt, and FIA, among others.

     

    He is responsible for teaching the subjects of Bovine Milk Production and Animal Feeding at undergraduate level, and Ruminant Nutrition and Ruminant Nutrition Topics, among others where he collaborates.
