Patricio Alejandro Sandaña Gómez

Ingeniero Agrónomo, M. Sc, Dr. Sc. Agr.

Patricio Sandaña es Profesor Asociado de la Facultad de Ciencias Agrarias y Alimentarias de la Universidad Austral de Chile (UACh). Además, forma parte del consejo directivo de la Estación Experimental Agropecuaria Austral (EEAA).

 

Realizó sus estudios de Ingeniero Agrónomo en la Universidad Austral de Chile. Se especializó fisiología de cultivos obteniendo el grado de Magíster en Ciencias Vegetales y posteriormente, obtuvo el grado de Doctor en Ciencias Agrarias en la misma casa de estudios.

 

Su línea de investigación tiene como objetivo estudiar la captura y eficiencia de uso de recursos en cultivos anuales a través del uso de modelos de simulación de cultivos y experimentos de campo. Eso por ello, que ha conducido y colaborado en proyectos financiados por FONDECYT, FONTAGRO, FIA, entre otros.

 

Es responsable de asignaturas como Modelos de simulación de Cultivos, Bioestadística Agrícola y Agricultura de Precisión, entre otras en donde colabora.

Patricio Sandaña is an Assistant Professor at the Institute of Plant Health and Production, Faculty of Agricultural and Food Sciences, Universidad Austral de Chile (UACh). He is also a member of the Board of Directors of the Austral Agricultural Experimental Station (EEAA) and coordinator of the subject area ​​"Agronomic Management of Potato Cultivation" in the Latin American Potato Association (ALAP).

 

He completed his Bachelor’s degree at Universidad Austral de Chile. He specialised in Crop Physiology obtaining a M.Sc. in Plant Sciences and later a Ph.D. in Agricultural Sciences, both from Universidad Austral de Chile.

 

His fields of research are the capture and efficiency of resource use in annual crops through the use of crop simulation models and field experiments. He has led and collaborated in projects financed by FONDECYT, FIC, FIA, among others.

 

He is responsible for teaching the subjects of Crop Simulation Models, Agricultural Biostatistics and Precision Agriculture, among others where he collaborates.
