Ingeniero Agrónomo, M. Sc, Dr. Sc. Agr.
Agronomist, M. Sc, Dr. Sc. Agr.
Patricio Sandaña is an Assistant Professor at the Institute of Plant Health and Production, Faculty of Agricultural and Food Sciences, Universidad Austral de Chile (UACh). He is also a member of the Board of Directors of the Austral Agricultural Experimental Station (EEAA) and coordinator of the subject area "Agronomic Management of Potato Cultivation" in the Latin American Potato Association (ALAP).
He completed his Bachelor’s degree at Universidad Austral de Chile. He specialised in Crop Physiology obtaining a M.Sc. in Plant Sciences and later a Ph.D. in Agricultural Sciences, both from Universidad Austral de Chile.
His fields of research are the capture and efficiency of resource use in annual crops through the use of crop simulation models and field experiments. He has led and collaborated in projects financed by FONDECYT, FIC, FIA, among others.
He is responsible for teaching the subjects of Crop Simulation Models, Agricultural Biostatistics and Precision Agriculture, among others where he collaborates.
